Today, I’m reflecting on two remarkable parts of my cinematic journey – the 21st anniversary of Thamizh and the 20th anniversary of Arasu. As I look back on these milestones, I’m filled with immense gratitude and joy. It’s been an incredible journey that has taught me so much about life, love, and the power of cinema.
Thamizh, released in 2002, holds a special place in my heart. Directed by Hari and starring myself alongside Prashanth, the film explores the intricacies of love, family, and sacrifice. Working with such a talented team, we were able to create a film that resonated deeply with audiences. The film’s songs, composed by the gifted Bharadwaj, continue to evoke nostalgia and transport me back to those magical moments on set.
Fast forward a year to 2003, and we saw the release of Arasu, directed by the versatile R. Madhesh. Starring R. Sarathkumar and myself, Arasu is a gripping action-drama that explores themes of power, corruption, and redemption. Working with Sarathkumar and the entire Arasu team was an amazing experience, and I’m incredibly proud of the film we created together. Mani Sharma’s music for Arasu was nothing short of phenomenal, and it elevated the film to greater heights.
Here’s to the magic of cinema and the unforgettable memories. I’ll continue to celebrate the power of storytelling and the impact it has on our lives.
Thamizh is presently available on Prime Video. Arasu is presently available on Prime Video and Sun NXT.
Happy 21st anniversary to Thamizh and 20th anniversary to Arasu!
